Well, he actually does use an unstable version as you can see from the date and from
the version number; but I myself get right the same error even under the version from
August, the 31st. My tools are from March, the 17th. This evening I upgrade them to 
1999_08_31 - if this solves the mentioned problem, I will let you know...
(BTW: kernel 2.2.12, redhat 5.2)
