Hi, this message is presumably related to taper, not to ftape.
I myself avoided the segmentation fault by upgrading taper to
version 6.9a
that can be found at
http://www.omen.com.au/~yusuf/
But there remain still some problems with taper, especially as far as the
restore module is concerned. So my "real" streamer (scsi) is not run by taper any more,
but by some scripts using afio, instead. They can be found at
http://www.stud.uni-bayreuth.de/~a0037/afio.html

Have you been able to remove the third of those modules? E. g. ftape-internal?
If you ype in
lsmod
you should get to know, which module uses zftape. Right this has to be removed at
first.
OK, but I must admit I myself am still not able to get ftape working with
that bloody ditto max, although in previous times I was able to cope with all that
annoying problems...well, I am going to try that September version...
Bye, Juergen.
