No. There are no attachments, and therefore anyone reading your message

This spec is very detailed and contains everything you ever wanted to
know about OSS. It's about 200 pages, IIRC.

As a user, you don't need to work with /dev/audio* directly, there are
tons of utilities that already do that for you. You need the OSS spec
only if you write a program that controls mixer, plays audio directly
into the device (bypassing esd) etc. etc.
