No. There are no attachments, and therefore anyone reading your message would have no clue what is the problem! The programming interface for /dev/audio* is here: http://www.opensound.com/pguide/index.html This spec is very detailed and contains everything you ever wanted to know about OSS. It's about 200 pages, IIRC. As a user, you don't need to work with /dev/audio* directly, there are tons of utilities that already do that for you. You need the OSS spec only if you write a program that controls mixer, plays audio directly into the device (bypassing esd) etc. etc. Dmitri > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "jchen@ptopa" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Thursday, May 09, 2002 7:43 PM > Subject: [linux-usb-devel] usb microphone not work > > > > Hello everyone : > > > > 1 > > I have problem with my usb microphone that plug into a USB port. > > The attached files dmesg.in and messages.in are files with connecting the > > device. > > and the attached files dmesg.out and messages.out are files with > > deconnecting the device. > > It seems failed and I didnot understand the meaning of the error messages > > clearly , who can give me > > an explaination detailly . and tell me how can I make it work . any > > suggestion will be helpful for me. > > (redhat 7.3 kernel 2.4.18) > > > > 2 > > Is there some man information of the device like audio , dsp ,mixer.
