As a rule, when I hook up a link and it doesn't behave, that's exactly what's wrong. I've not yet gotten around to making ZCIP automate everything.
As soon as I try and configure an IP address in Windows, I get either a never ending hourglass or a blue screen of death. It depends on the Windows version. The first time I plugged into Windows I thought it was working, until I tried to configure the IP address.
Try deconfiguring from that broken INF file, then rebooting, reinstalling then rebooting. Static configuration works for me. If all else fails, you could re-install Windows. Resist the urge, this time!, to replace it with Linux.
I'm running low on ideas. Windows just isn't very helpful. On a side note, I really haven't used Windows since 1996. Do most people just learn to put up with a dozen crashes a day? I know I'm going crazy.
That many crashes is excessive even for Windows.
