If all you care about is getting the thing to work, you can try simply removing the statements under the "case UHCI_RUNNING:" label in uhci_hcd.c:hc_state_transitions() -- just leave the "break" statement. Of course, that won't get you any nearer toward understanding what was wrong in the first place. Also it will prevent your computer from entering certain low-power-utilization modes. Have you been able to get the source code for the Knoppix kernel that worked successfully? Does comparison with the Fedora souce reveal anything?
