Does it make a significant difference if the stick is plugged directly 
into the computer instead of going through an external hub?

Also, what's the story on this strange 30-second gap in the log?

The other two gaps appear to be places where you unplugged and replugged
the stick.

All the -110 errors seemed to occur during device initialization and 
enumeration.  That's pretty common.  I don't think it indicates anything 
wrong with the host controller.  It could just be that the stick takes too 
long to reset itself.
