yellow: device is working as expected, altough a ide transfer is failing our 6MB/sec transfer rate expectations. IDE transfer rate are reduced for more than 6MB/sec while we are using ehci-hcd. When unloading ehci-hcd the win in tranfer-capacity is mor than 6MB/sec. (use hdparm -t /dev/<device> for measurement)
Note, the throughput drop is not just _while_ you're using ehci-hcd even. Once it has been used once, the trouble stays until ehci-hcd is unloaded. For example, I can switch off or even unplug my USB2 HDD (my only USB2 device) after it has been on, but nothing other than modprobe -r ehci-hcd solves anything:

so is this a bit of over-reaction or appropriate?
Well, I'll just sit here and try patches when they come in okay? :-) Rene ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
