Hi all! I own an iriver H300, ie an external hard disk. When I connect it via usb2 to my laptop or desktop pc I often get usb 2-2: reset high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2 This happens often, although it does not ruin the files nor creates other problems (besides the time until the device is resetted and the copying continues).Just now I coied 5.4Gb to the device and it was resetted around 25 times.
specs: linux-2.6.17-rc4-mm3 (happens with older -mm kernels, too) device: usb 2-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2 usb 2-2: new device found, idVendor=1006, idProduct=3003 usb 2-2: new device strings: Mfr=73, Product=80, SerialNumber=99 usb 2-2: Product: iRiver H300 Series usb 2-2: Manufacturer: iRiver usb 2-2: SerialNumber: 0123456789AB PM: Adding info for usb:2-2 usb 2-2: configuration #2 chosen from 1 choice PM: Adding info for usb:2-2:2.0 scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices PM: Adding info for No Bus:host1 usb-storage: device found at 2 usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning PM: Adding info for No Bus:target1:0:0 Vendor: TOSHIBA Model: MK4004GAH Rev: JC00 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 00 PM: Adding info for scsi:1:0:0:0 SCSI device sdb: 78126048 512-byte hdwr sectors (40001 MB) sdb: Write Protect is off sdb: Mode Sense: 00 4a 00 00 sdb: assuming drive cache: write through SCSI device sdb: 78126048 512-byte hdwr sectors (40001 MB) sdb: Write Protect is off sdb: Mode Sense: 00 4a 00 00 sdb: assuming drive cache: write through sdb: sdb1 sd 1:0:0:0: Attached scsi disk sdb usb modules: uhci_hcd, ehci_hcd, usb_storage So my question is: Is this behaviour to be expected, or should this be tracked?
