both loaded. someone else pointed out that I was using mousebp instead
of hid: i'll examine that.

btw, yes, Mandrake 8.0 uses linux 2.4.3 (with some mandrake patches). I'll
patch up to 2.4.4, add the hid-split patch, and ensure that I'm using
hid for the mouse, and report back.
