I have not received a response from the author of this
driver, unfortunately. The problem is that it is very
new ADSL USB Modem module/driver (less than 4 months
old -- the version which I am using, 1.3.4, is only a
month old). It is also under a half-sincere GPL
licensing by the company Alcatel, making it a bit more
difficult to get straight answers out of people since
they know very little about it. However, all other
things being equal, this driver should work with the
USB dev fs... whether or not it actually talks to the
modem is another matter which I must confront. They
have said numerous times that it is tried and tested
on the 2.4.2 kernel, compatible with all Redhat 7
distributions, etc..
Perhaps I am missing something out in the process of
setting up the module to be part of the USB dev fs.
... This assumption might be true since I receive an
'error=-110' when the hub tries to give it an address.
'-110', however, is an enigma to me.
The attachment shows the exact response by the hub
when the modem is connected to a port.
