Output of lsusb if you have it, or /proc/bus/usb/devices (you may need to mount it - see FAQ on http://www.linux-usb.org). lsusb would be particularly good, because it might help identify the mixer problem too. Greg KH just submitted the patch that may allow you to map the buttons (volume?) as keyboard entries. Look for it in 2.4.15 final.
