The keyboard is a Gateway USB keyboard and the mouse is a Microsoft
Intellimouse Optical. What I've read, the KVM switch tries to keep the
keyboard and mouse alive on all of the systems connected to the KVM switch
instead of using the hotplug mechanism on each box to detect the keyboard
and mouse when switching between systems.

I'm really new with USB, but as far as I can tell it is the USBSTS register.
