this is what I've got when I"cat" /proc/bus/usb/devices
it seems to be good

this is what I've got when I"cat" /proc/bus/usb/drivers

usbdevfs
hub
usbnet

the device has been correctly created in /proc/bus/usb/001/004

Here is my problem :

I'm trying to connect a desktop and a laptop with a USB bridge cable,
that use chipset Prolific PL-2301/PL-2302.
I followed all the procedure described below :
http://www.linux-usb.org/usbnet/

but when i do "ifup usb0"
(in /var/log/messages)
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 1353
usb0: open reset fail (-32) usbnet 001/004, Prolific PL-2301/PL-2302

I've found this message in the Linux Kernel Archive :
http://www.uwsg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0204.1/0958.html

and it describes exactly the same problem I've got!

It seems this problem has been solved since that but
I don't know how to install the usb-uhci.c "patched"
maybe If I move to a newer kernel version (2.4.19 for example) ?

My distro is the Mandrake 8.2, kernel version 2.4.18-6mdk.

Thanks for your help

Fred
