It was 90 seconds for me. Clock froze, and oddly the LEDs "C/Lock" and "S/Lock" were now blinking as they never do otherwise. I blamed myself for perhaps plugging in my PQI http://jidanni.org/comp/config_en.html#usb_card_reader before power up this time, who knows. Walk over and push 'reset'. Good thing I now use ext3 filesystems. >> Which USB chipset do you have? VIA 586B is known to have a seriuos bug for >> bulk transfers. Hmmm, I bet the Defense Department wouldn't let their entire mighty Cray networks be "frozen by one puny USB device". So is the strategy now "read the card and pull it back out fast or detach the USB reader fast before Linux freezes", or will it freeze anyway? Do my LEDs blinking mean "Linu[xs] knows, Linu[xs] knows"? I should have checked what "post code" my board had at the time. -- http://jidanni.org/ Taiwan(04)25854780 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
