I recently bought one of these (the combo model): http://triumphtech.com/@PRDCT/TT345.htm
I just noticed the penguin at the bottom of the page, so maybe I didn't make a big mistake after all. :) I tried shoving a recent CD recorder into the box, and connected it to my Linux machine (RH 8.0 with kernel kernel-smp-2.4.18-27.8.0). I can't find the version of the USB ports (an old Asus P2B-DS) in the manual. I can't get the device to even see a CD-ROM (let alone a recordable CD). Some output: $ /sbin/lsmod (skipping irrelevant output) Module Size Used by Tainted: PF usbcore 80512 1 [hid usb-storage usb-uhci] usb-storage 62552 0 usb-uhci 27276 0 (unused) $ cat /proc/scsi/usb-storage-0/1 Host scsi1: usb-storage Vendor: Unknown Product: USB 2.0 Storage Device Serial Number: 00042222200000017475 Protocol: Transparent SCSI Transport: Bulk GUID: 040256212222200000017475 Attached: No (was Yes earlier) $ cat /proc/scsi/usb-storage-1/2 Host scsi2: usb-storage Vendor: Unknown Product: Unknown Serial Number: None Protocol: Transparent SCSI Transport: Bulk GUID: 040256210000000000000000 Attached: Yes # cdrecord -scanbus Cdrecord 1.10 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2001 Jörg Schilling Linux sg driver version: 3.1.24 Using libscg version 'schily-0.5' scsibus1: 1,0,0 100) '' '' '' Removable not present Disk 1,1,0 101) * (no other devices attached) In the past, I have seen garbage characters in the above line. Looking forward to your help. Thanks in advance. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
