Hi there. >From the little bit of googling I've done, this seems to be a common problem, with no consistent solution, but maybe someone on this list can offer some insight...
The system is running RH9 on an AMD Athlon and a Jetway VIA KM266 motherboard. I've got two USB 1.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports. When I first installed RH9, I had no problems whatsoever with USB. I am currently only using it with an Epson inkjet printer, but the system discovered it and set it up just fine. The configuration held through many reboots in the first couple weeks as I tweaked the system and started learning my way around linux. However, I then added a Hawking Technologies wireless PCI card. (Note I said PCI, not USB.) After that the machine would hang on reboot at the point where it loaded usb-uhci. I had to turn off USB in the BIOS in order to get the machine to boot. I have tried using the alternate uhci module, as well as some of the others, but none of them work. I also tried removing the config via Kudzu and re-adding it, no difference. I posted to the linux-wlan-ng mailing list, since all of this started when I installed the wireless drivers, but haven't gotten anything to go on. Any ideas of things I should try?
