Yes, there was one line missing:

ehci-hcd               16588   0 (unused)

So if I understand things right I could try to exchange the usb-uhci module by 
the uhci module? Well I will give it a try when I have the device at hand. 

I still cannot classify the different modules: There are chipset dependent 
drivers like  Cyriac Benoit said: ohci, uhci and usb-uhci. Ok. Then there is 
the ehci driver (ehci-hcd module). Is this driver number 4 in the sequence of 
chipset drivers or does it serve a different purpose and relies on any of the 
ohci, uhci or usb-uhci drivers?

If it servers a different purpose than the other three modules I do not 
understand the posting for which I gave the URL in my last mail since there 
was talk about a working uhci driver but an ehci failure for the device. 
Because of this posting I thought that ehci-hcd is another implementation for 
the same purpose like the uhci module.  But this does not fit to what Cyriac 
Benoit said?
