Hello, I recently purchased a NEX Ia MP3 player. It should represent itself as a USB mass storage device to the system. Using Windows this works, so the device itself seems to be ok. In Linux however the player is recognized but then the device is not accessible. /proc/scsi/scsi shows the following:
Attached devices: .... Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: FL Model: Nex IA Digital Rev: 0001 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 However there is no sdx device available to access the player. I googled a little and found one hit from someone who successfully uses this player with linux but for me it does not work. I am using a suse8.2 distribution with a (suse) 2.4.21 kernel. Attached to this mail you find a small (1.2K) excerpt from /var/log/messages when attaching the device. Perhaps someone has an idea of what goes wrong and can help?
