I just tried to by the Orange Micro iBot2. Its discontinued. And what
about the large install base of Phillips webcams?

Well, the freedom is with the author of the software this time.
No, the decision has been made to eliminate his functionality from the
kernel. Its unreasonable to for the developer to relegate his code to
2nd class status when it is used by so many people.
Btw, you don't have to delete the driver from your harddrive. It'll keep
working.
For now. Till we upgrade our kernels or patch our security holes. What
kind of logic is that?
