Hi-ho.. This has come up a couple of times before, but it always seems to make sense to keep the newbie questions in the main list.. If we split the CLUG list in two, we would risk 'casting adrift' the newbies, as the experienced users would not feel motivated to read the newbie list and provide the help they're looking for.
Also the opposite applies, the newbies get to read the more technical questions, and although some of it will be black magic, it may get the curiosity going to start some folks playing with parts of Linux that they have not used before. Cheers, Chris. ----- Original Message ----- From: JJ :: MixingSoup.com To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, July 23, 2002 7:32 PM Subject: A small suggestion... Hey, I just had a brief thought... It seems that quite a few NEWBIES (Such as myself) are posting there questions to the mailing list, what if you set up a message board/forum somewhere so that you could keep track of the members, and maybe lighten the load on the mailing list? It would also be easier to archive common questions as well. --------------------------------- JJ :: Support and Webdesign E-Mail :: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.soupfiction.cjb.net http://www.mixingsoup.com ---------------------------------
