My wife knows how to use kde with very little instruction. So the task bar is at the top of the screen and the "Start" button is a "K" in a cogwheel - cosmetics! I showed her gaw-juss-ness which icon to click for OpenOffice, went to the bathroom and when I came back her document was already halfway out of the printer. My wife is not a techie, and was a bit aprehensive when I mentioned I was going to teach her to use my computer (this was without having tried). If I can get OpenOffice to load as fast as Word loads on her laptop, I might get a convert. Yuri
