An "official" PostScript interpreter is one produced or licensed by Adobe, who created PostScript in the first place. And a pretty good job they did too - I remember happy days with a serial console attached to the side of a printer, trying to describe by hand what I wanted it to print, all in the name of debugging a postscript driver ... -jim
