Yes, nicely locked up where it runs the University Email, DNS, and
Student Database and *does*not* interact with students.  Much.  I am
fearful of the day that VMS is brought onto the desktop.

Some may argue that VMS made it onto the desktop; Windows NT was written
by one of the original VMS designers and has a very similar privileges
system.  The privileges system is a mixed blessing: it allows for a far
more secure setup than is possible with Posix, but it is difficult to
get right, causing more insecurity than security for Windows, IMHO.
