Rock and roll, Vik and Nick.  It worked.  Thanks a million!!!

So the final solution was:
*Install Microsoft Personal Web Server off the Win98 CD, and fire it up.
*Boot laptop with tomsrtbt linux, which automatically detected the PCMCIA
card and DHCP'd itself an IP addy
*Mount dos partition and cd to mounted part
*Type "wget http://129.168.0.108/filename.exe";

Reboot, and voila!!!
