Yes it is still under warranty but I was concerned that there may be a 
setting I'd missed.

If it does turn out to be a hardware problem I'll look at returning it.

AFAIK I'm not on a dodgy line... I live in the middle of Riccarton.  99% 
of the time I connect at 49.3kbps.
