I saw the option during set-up, so I thought Great - this'll get my wife's laptop
going at last.

So then I installed mdk 9.1 on Julia's lappie, and when it came to the "configure
winmodem" part it told me: "This winmodem is not supported - see www.linmodem.org"


I'm gonna load the LT drivers from linmodem.org, but have yet to try it.

I have promised Julia that if linmodem.org doesn't have the goods, I'll run
the Windows 98 recovery disk.

A darn shame coz she likes the look of kmail on my desktop - better than the
version of Outlook that came with her laptop
