Which is why I use emacs as my HTML editor and konqueror, Galeon and Mozilla as the test browsers - I'd use the IE that came with my box's Win98, but I can't be bothered with installing it under wine.
I forgot about Galeon...nice and snappy 'tis...
konqueror is very strict - if konqueror and Mozilla give the thumbs down to a web page, I know I've got to redo it.
Absolutely. I use Netscape (mostly) and Konqueror...both render my code precisely the same...MSIE doesn't...
MSIE sucks, because as I wrote my CV I discovered that MSIE renders the Javscript window.resize() code differently from other browsers, so if I want a webpage thats 550x350 pixels big I have to put a conditional resize code in the page since one browser does the total window size and the others do just the browsing pane size when issued that command.
As a result I actually put notices on the pages saying that "due to the minor abberations from the W3C standards that MS used, this page will not display as intended in any version of Internet Explorer. Please use a fully standards compliant browser instead."
:-)
