Something _very_ wrong there!

How old is this machine?

Old CDROM drives will not read CD-Writable disks.

We are having a Gentoo Linux Installfest tomorrow at the OSTC
For Gentoo it's really not very practical to try anything much older / slower
than a PII/300

If you were to turn up with your machine, and all the extra things like
power-cords, monitor, keyboard and mice etc. and $10 in your hot little hand
you'd have a pretty good chance of getting one of the better Linux systems
installed. You will need a network card or be happy for one of us to open
your machine and fit one.
