Long story......

Son has birthday. Requests, as present, that parents pay for him to build a
computer entertainment centre. Parents ask for detailed proposal which
included father getting upgrade (mobo, cpu, ram). Son now plays movies from
the server onto TV with remote controlled Entertainment PC. (Much better
than X-Box)

Problems with new mobo though (does not let one of the HD's coexist with
other drives, sound and NIC not detected by Knoppix or Gentoo)

Problems now overcome (new HD, help from list to find linux drivers)

Gentoo being installed now (does not take long with P4, 2.4GHz, 512Mb ram)
