XBox media player is quite nice, enables playing of most formats you can play on a PC.
However you need to open up the xbox, solder a couple of pins together, and then flash the bios. Once you've done that you can load on linux too. Add a couple of USB ports so you can plug in keyboard, mouse and whatever else and you're all sorted. Only downside, is early versions of the Xbox have dvd drives that dont like most copied cds (new revisions are fine, or the dvd can be replaced) www.xboxhacking.co.nz has a few more details. And you void your warranty, however Microsoft tech support informed me the most they charge for repairs is AU$200 (new motherboard).
