Hiya David, try disabling artsd from KDE Control Centre (under Sound system) Artsd prevent most of my games from having sound by blocking access to /dev/dsp and other sound related devices. I'm pretty sure thats what will be happening to Rosegarden... On the downside it means nice system sounds will be silent... :-( Kind regards, Chris Wilkinson, Christchurch.
