Yuri - This thread reminds me - I noticed that the wizard on the Knoppix set-up sets
Paradise automatically - but with the Wellington number - where would they have got
that info? Is it possible to let someone (Klaus?) know this so that it could be
altered?

Use kppp to set up the connection.
You should only need to enter the dial-up number, username
and password.
DNS is set automagically as part of the ppp handshake.

Make sure the authentication is set to "PAP/CHAP" and not
"Script".

The dial-up number depends on location:
Wellington 086727235
Rest of NZ 086727234

Paradise help desk does not answer linux-specific queries
but
will try to help linux users by giving out any setting you
ask
for.

I have submitted an instruction document for setting up kppp
to
be included on the clear.net and paradise CD-ROM, but it's
not
signed off yet.

If you're in Chch I'll happily come around and set it up.
I'm out of town next week though (Queen Charlotte Track -
Yay!)
