This is about as bad as the version you criticise. Many parts of a modern Linux system come from GNU, many others do not, e.g. apache, perl?, open office?. If I went through the 4-digit number of packages on my disribution disks, only a fraction of them are GNU projects (and no, I won't do it because I have better things to do).

Using the GPL doesn't mean it's a GNU project.

Correct, I should have probably mentioned more that I was GPL rather than other "open source". But I think you'll find that most of the original (of course things have moved on since the early 90's) /operating system/ tools were from the GNU project. Unless, of course, apache, Perl and open office are now part of the (GNU) Linux operating system...?
