Paul Brislen should be first against the wall after the revolution. Its true you can buy 16 debian discs including source from copyleft for $240, and 8 debian binary discs for $120, but with all respect to Phil of copyleft, thats OTT for average Joe. who doesn't want to fiddle under the bonnet. Hell you can have a pretty goos debian install from one knoppix CD. A 2-3 disk mandrake system suits a beginner, and that should be no more than the $15 per disk Phil charges, or more like $5 per disk from a LUG group. also Brislen was more or less saying you have to fiddle under the bonnet to get linux going. crap. some of us like fiddling and use distros accordingly (gentoo here). Others just want a desktop, and install something like mandrake and are trouble free. as for fiddling under the bonnet, has Brislen read the microsoft.* usenet lately? Theres plenty of people who need help for their windows products, and can't seem to get the help via their extensive licensing fees. > > Who is the "Paul" guy, i also missed his full name ?. > > I also missed the first 8/10 minutes. > > And paragraphs are definitely good things. > > antonovich wrote: > > > > Hi Simon, > > I just listened to your open source article.
