Hi there,

I have yet to see a site where using shockwave/flash (is there a difference?) has improved navigation, or has been used beneficially with something that wouldn't have been possible without. I have however seen many sites which are completely unusable because of it.

Shockwave is an eye-candy tool, packaged in a convenient format that is relatively bandwidth light. Based on that it isn't meant to be useful in a clinical kind of way...

Same with the likes of nVidia video drivers, without which
Linux gaming would not be near as well supported by game developers...

I can see a point in nvidia video drivers, simply because of a lack of better alternatives. I see no point in wasting my time on other nvidia hardware, e.g. their network stuff, to which anyone can buy equivalents by the truckload for $15 including full source code.

No problem with that, but generally I am looking for information and

*only* designed to entertain

Thats fair enough. Its different strokes for different folks at the end of the day, and the few websites that actually >are< informative do not
tend to emphasize eye-candy...
