yeah yeah we know every distro will run an 8139 card, the problem is
finding a set of debian boot floppies to start a network install off
the pcmcia version of the 8139, ie he needs the realtek_cs driver on a
debian boot/driver floppy.

As I said to the original poster, I have  card that may work. Its a 3com
etherlink III which uses the 3c589_cs driver. You're welcome to borrow
it, assuming my son can tell me what he did with the dongle.

Incidentally the dongle has 10base-T and coax connectors, for those who
feel really retro!
