I looked into the Indian restuarant concerned, the Raj Mahal, which is
on the corner of Worcester & Manchester. Many of you probably will have
dined there.

It is owned by some relative of my secretary (relative being a verrrry
broad term in the Indian community it would appear!). However she has
been unable to get hold of either of the owners, and they may be out of
town or something.

Undeterred i have sought out and found their website. http://www.rajmahal.co.nz/
- the menu is http://www.rajmahal.co.nz/rest_menu.html

I have loved every meal I have had there. I usually find that if weach
person orders an entree and a main, and it all just gets shared around,
then you get a great meal with an interesting variety of tastes.

Actually instead of ordering individual entrees there is a starter
platter which would probably work out cheaper.

I think we would probably get away with under $25 per head for food,
plus whatever you drink of course (a few lagers does wash it down well
i find!). Thats on the basis of one main ($13-$18) , plus share of a
starter platter (say one between two or $6.75 each) lus a few extras
like naan bread, poppadums etc

if this is to everyone's taste and budget, I suggest we:

1. fix a night
2 tentaively book
3. establish numbers
4. confirm booking with correct numbers.
5. eat drink & be merry!

If any of our younger members want to come, i think they will be ok to
be on licensed premises with the adults. i won't personally guarantee
their welfare to their parents, but I think as a whole we would be able
to say to parents that we won't let them drink, and will try and see
that they get to the appropriate bus stop, or whatever.
