If you read my whole post, you'll see that I said I keep my systems up to date with URPMI. So I HAVE those patches installed on a regular basis. If you know me, you'd never say I was a troll...others on this list know I am not.

I DO suggest people keep their systems updated but I do belive that an out of the box Mandrake install (at the time of its release) is infinitely more secure than its Winders counterparts. Point to some evidence, anywhere, that proves otherwise.

Looking at the MandrakeSoft advisories for security problems in the
latest product (9.2), there are 36 security-related patches available.

Any operating system that has been locked down by somebody who knows
what they're doing is going to be significantly more secure than an
out-of-the-box install of virtually any operating system.  To suggest
otherwise indicates that you're either naive, or a troll.
