I think that when we finnally have a CLUG meeting, a tutorial on busy list management might be a good idea.
Can the list run in archive mode, for people who would prefer to have just one big message every day or so, rather than each individual one as it happens?

In which case it may be reasonable to suggest a change in engine. If this can't be done within the university, perhaps someone else (myself included) would be able to host it elsewhere?
Yes, there will be some pain involved in the changeover, and that pain may be greater than the anticipated gain.
