Me and a friend spent a great deal of time researching this, and IIRC it
turns out that there are many types of hiku, with many different
patterns. However, it all basically boiled down to: if it sounds like a
haiku, it's a haiku.

But I may have been writing some verse, and not trying to write a haiku.
But the fact that it sounded like a haikuâ :P
