Ham Radio Station ZL3ND, and ZL3AQ both have home weather stations. A 2m Radio and a small piece of software called UIView, an APRS signal viewer, is all you'll need. If you get a Ham License, you might get interested in using the RXer in anything other than RX mode

I looked into the weather station stuff a few months ago, and you're looking as 250+ for anything even approaching useful. What I'd like to find out more about is... there's a weather station on the top of Mt Herbert, which seems to communicate over the radio waves. Now, can we hijack those signals? With any luck you should be in line of sight! Just a few random thoughts, Steve --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
