[...] > With all due respect, to suggest that the general public can drive properly > and safely, if that's what you mean by 'effectively' is pure self-delusion. mmmm speaking as somebody who came from europe recently I'd blame it on road design mostly, I do not believe that NZlanders are worse at driving than (pick your european country of choice), and yes I do believe that the skills required to get a driving license are fair since driving does not require one to possess major skills in the first place, the fact that mistakes cost lives/injuries should simply suggest the driver to raise the level of attention in what she/he is doing. <joke> Oh ... and yes it is true that in NZ, drinking clubs have some serious driving problems. </joke> cheers -- Delio
