Old thread, but still the same problem. Running a simple cashing name server on the desktop which doesn't use ISPs' servers in turn, and putting 127.0.0.1 into /etc/resolv.conf, doesn't seem to make any difference. I'm still getting "unknown host" errors from konqueror. Once even from a domain which was listed in /etc/hosts - does that tell me something?
