No it isn't - according to the helpdesk which finally answered.

not on either of my paradise connections its not! (of course if they are on bitstream or whatever it may be different).
Plus I wanted to know the other settings which are important. The guy told me to use PPPoE but for Telecom and Orcon we use PPPoA so that might be a trial and error thing tomorrow.
Utter crap all adsl services in NZ are PPPoA.
.... except for Telstra clear, which is pppoe.
