Do not unless absolutely no other option is available install from a RPM. Use the built in software installer as it will automagicly install any other dependencies that the software you are installing has and keep a record of what is installed.
Go to; Start --> System --> Confieration --> Packaging --> Install Software. After prompting for a root password rpmdrake the software installer program will open Enter mysql in the find box and click the search button. A list of mysql applications will appear. Check the box next to the particular application you wish to install and click on the install button. The installer will prompt you to insert the appropriate cdrom.
