Snap Internet. While their website may not be great their support certainly is great - and free. For example, I got a Nokia Ni500 (should have done some research) through Trademe, couldn't get it going, Snap had it overnight and tried everything to get it going - including firmware upgrade - but unsuccessfully (sending it back - got a DSE router). I have always been with them through the dial-up days and when I got Jetstream it was through them - now with the unbundling I am getting adsl directly from them. Here are the price differences

Jetstream - 256kbps - 3Gb cap - $49.00 (Snap was getting $10 of that for helpdesk support)
Snap - 256kbps - 5Gb cap - $39.00

They are adding faster connections (2 Mbps) in the next week or so.

I like them because they have a small company ethic and treat their customers well. When Telstra Clear came knocking in our area a couple of weeks ago saying that they were laying cable in our area and asking would we like to move over to them I got into a conversation with the sales fellow. I told him I was with Snap and he said that all of the comments he hears about Snap when he doorknocks for Telstra are positive.

Just had a call from ihug telling me I've got to get off their bundled telecon service by the end of next month, and offering me a wonderful new ubs bliink version at a really cheap price of - you guessed it - exactly the same!

Anyone got any suppestions for a decent 2MB service from an isp that offers decent service and reliable newsgroups?

Is it telstra clear time?

Cheers,

Steve

It looks like it's down to either staying with ihug, going on to bliiiiink, or transferring to telecon. Anyone got any thoughts?

Cheers,

Steve
