The head scratcher for me is how it affected my ISP Snap. My understanding is that their upstream provider is TelstraClear. My traffic should have been routed via TelstraClears' fibre optic cable which runs alongside the North Island Main Trunk Railway. Straight past the breaks in Telecom Network and out into the wide world via the international gateway.
I could not get any international sites. NZ sites should mostly have been unreachable becuase they most likely hooked up via Telecom, but international sites??
