Did you ever have choppy DVD playback problems?

I too am running Ubuntu, and have installed xine. The playback seems
to micropause every few sconds, and the sound synchronisation can be a
bit off after a while too. It's not unwatchable, but not as smooth as
in windows.

I haven't had a really good go at fixing it, but did notice that the
DVD drive is using udma. Probably a caching thing somewhere.
