Well, I sympathise. These are common problems, but their solutions have become easier better recently. We (on the list) should attempt these one at a time, otherwise confusion will arise. Updates and downloads and installing programs should probably be handled first, since configuring a printer, or setting up sound might need drivers, which will need to be downloaded and installed. I guess the first thing is, does the machine boot up satisfactorily, and can you connect to the internet with it? A
