Is there a better way to get high speed data to these people?
Yup, Sell sufficient households on to the idea that T/C Cable is the way to
go and negotiate with T/C to provide.
Did you look at sheet 9 of the spreedsheet?
TC only provide up to 10mbit within their nodes. I'm proposing 100mbit
on wire and 54mbit by wifi. That's ten times the capacity.
It also cost TC $100 million to delivery what they did. It costs at
least $10/m to deliver copper the way they do it.
This is the company that wouldn't even install network in to my flat
unless I signed up for triple play at $100+ per month... not to mention
the fact that they wanted to rip up my neighbours garden and smash up
her path rather than use a bit of copping under the fence line like
Telecom would have (and have done in other properties just up my street).
The users will then get service from a corporate entity which is of
sufficient size to be able to actually provide a 'dial-tone' level of
reliability.
I wish that were true, but it's not.
Cheers Don
